I have to put my two cents in on this again. When I was working on my teaching credentials. I had a professor who said that she had worked at USC at one time teaching reading to football players. What are students who can't even read doing at USC? Well, sports bring a lot of money into the universities. Now how fair is that to students who have to compete for admission with grades. I imagine that big donations to the universities will buy your kids way into college. I just have a real hard time listening to these people being so vilified over this. They are being made an example. Joe Kennedy bought his kids way into Harvard. The Kennedy's were no scholars. Everyone is acting so surprised. Well, I guess you would be surprised if you aren't familiar with the whole system.
