I've owned and sold five houses in L.A. Over the years, I've seen home values skyrocket, come down and skyrocket again. You can't lose on CA real estate if you buy and sell at the right time. At this particular time, I enjoy renting. It offers me freedom to go anywhere I want, and I don't have the headache of upkeep.
